About Me

You can call me JC.

I’m known as The Project Whisperer – a calm, confident presence in the noise and pressure of complex projects.

My passion is helping people lead projects that matter. The ones where the risks are high, the expectations are unclear, and the way forward is anything but straightforward.

But before all that, I was a farm kid in country Queensland. Life was simple, structured, and full of responsibility. Every day brought work – before school, after school, on weekends. No complaints. Just a deep understanding that everyone had a role to play. That’s where I learned discipline, shared effort, and the value of showing up – traits I carry into every project today.

I thought I’d become a schoolteacher. Maths and science were my favourite subjects, and I’ve always loved helping people understand things clearly. Teaching didn’t happen but leading, mentoring, and translating complexity into clarity absolutely did.

My career has unfolded in distinct phases: First in the meat and sugar industries – hands-on, process-driven work that taught me grit and grounded decision-making. Then into the public sector, where I held roles from logistics officer to program director. Each step grew my understanding of how people, process, and technology must align for real change to stick.

I didn’t plan to become a project professional but with curiosity and a strong appetite to learn, I kept putting my hand up for the next challenge.

The most powerful leadership lessons, though, didn’t come from a desk.
For 20 years, I was involved in AFL participation and talent programs. That’s where I truly learned what it means to lead under pressure, build team trust, and unlock performance – not through control, but through connection.

Since 2017, I’ve drawn on this diverse experience alongside hundreds of hours of interviews, case studies, and fieldwork — to create The Project Ecosystem®, my signature planning and delivery framework. It sits at the heart of all my programs and workshops.

The Project Ecosystem ®

Today, I work with project sponsors, senior delivery leads, and cross-functional teams who are navigating complex projects while juggling operational pressure and competing priorities. Whether through strategic advisory, 1:1 mentoring, or team development, I bring structure, insight, and momentum to help them move from pressure to progress.

Most importantly — my ‘why’ is personal.
My daughter Kirsty and granddaughter Willow inspire everything I do. They remind me that legacy is built through courage, care, and showing up for the things that matter.

In short: I help people lead with clarity, restore trust, and deliver results – even when the path ahead feels uncertain.

Activator

I don’t just dream; I catalyse. My innate drive propels ideas into tangible actions, ensuring thoughts don’t remain confined as abstract concepts but bloom into realized ventures.

Arranger

Organizing chaos is my forte. Like a maestro conducting a harmonious symphony, I orchestrate the many facets of projects, ensuring each plays its part to perfection.

Individualisation

I see you. Every team member, every client, every stakeholder is a unique chapter in the story. My strength lies in recognizing these individual narratives and weaving them into the grand tapestry of the project.

Relator

Authentic relationships are the pillars upon which success is built. I deeply resonate with people, forming connections that are genuine and lasting, fostering a sense of camaraderie and trust.

Responsibility

With great power comes great accountability. Every task I undertake is backed by an unwavering commitment to see it through, to uphold the trust placed in me.
